Interspersed between the chapters of a modern love story are the authors asides and notes-to the reader and to the editor. The movie references are non-stop, giving the story a sharper image with clearer descriptions through the use of comparative elements know to both the reader and the author. With a wry sense of humor, the author/narrator bares his insecurities and fears, his anxieties and inadequacies, and we begin to suspect that the interleaved notes are as much a novel as the love story.
