Chapter 5 offers a discussion of the results and their implications in explaining the meaning of Cle. From this I propose referential scope of the use of the Cle which represents the flexibility in the referential value of the pronoun le . I claim that this structure can be characterized as a case of (socio)pragmatic variation. Although the use of Cle is identified with a specific register, some forms are conventionalized without social limitations of use. Finally, in Chapter 6 I present concluding remarks and suggestions for further research.
