A + A provides a hybrid gaze into the connections between architecture and the animation techniques that have increasingly come to define and influence our ideas about its structural capacity, imaginary potential, and virtual existence. Presented in one book that combines three distinct parts–an essay, a flip book, and a CD-ROM–A + A aims to foster reflection and debate on the multi-dimensional issues related to the acts of building and imagining contemporary architecture. The essay offers readings on the respective meetings that occur between architecture and animation and animation and architecture. The flip book combines still images of architectural structures into a sequence that builds, and builds, and builds. And lastly, the CD-ROM offers direct visions and thoughts on architecture as visualized by means of animation.
